About the opportunity:
Working directly with and supported by Principals/Project Directors, in delivering major projects, you will be involved in the structural design of non-process and process mining and industrial structures and related infrastructure. You will be provided opportunity to enhance your skills including technical, project management and client relationships. Our team also values diverse skillsets, so experience in structures outside of the mining sector is also of benefit. As a Lead Structural Engineer you will have opportunities to independently manage projects from commencement to handover. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing efficient structural engineering designs and overseeing the design documentation.
  2. Analysing structural systems for strength and serviceability conditions, including load combinations with mechanical loads, both static and dynamic.
  3. Project management including monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and negotiating variations to designs.
  4. Liaising with and coordinating various stakeholders including clients, other engineering firms, contractors and authorities.
  5. Client coordination including, meeting our client's expectations and project objectives.
  6. Attending site for inspections.
  7. Leading a team of Engineers to deliver projects.

We are keen to hear from candidates with 5 or more years’ experience who have a strong technical base and want to grow and develop their engineering and project leadership skills with some of the best in the field. You will receive mentoring and support from Principals and Project Directors, to develop and tailor your role to suit your strengths and passions to support career growth.

What You Will Bring:
Key skills and experience of the successful candidate will include:

  1. Tertiary level qualifications in Civil Engineering.
  2. 5 years plus experience in mining or related industry, preferably in a consulting environment.
  3. Strong communication and liaison abilities to engage with clients and other engineers.
  4. Strong practical understanding, proactive high-level thinking, and high attention to detail.
  5. Exposure to developing structural design across a range of project cycles utilizing relevant standards and best practice methodologies in the mining industry.
  6. Experience or interest in advanced structural analysis including FEA, Structural Dynamics, Fatigue Analysis will be highly regarded and supported.
