We now have an exciting opportunity for a communications professional with extensive experience in employee and organisational change to join our Sustainability and Corporate Affairs team in Sydney on a permanent basis.

The Communications Manager for Operations and Infrastructure Delivery will report to the Head of Corporate Communications, providing strategic employee communications advice and support to drive engagement and transformation in our frontline workforce.

The successful candidate will work with two executives to update and engage our frontline employees nationally, supporting strategic and critical projects. The Communications Manager forms part of the APA Communications team and will work with the Head of Corporate Communications on execution of the broader employee communications strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the employee communications strategy and plan for Operations and Infrastructure Delivery, working with two Group Executives and their leadership team
  • Partner with Ops and ID on organisational transformation programs, to ensure employees are communicated with in a manner that supports engagement and culture outcomes
  • Partner with the Operations and ID function to support key campaigns, to establish a well-managed and well planned roll-out of communications with emphasis on people leader-led communications
  • Partner with the business to identify and develop proactive stories that build reputation, engagement with employees and attract talent
  • Working with the broader team to support execution of APA's employee communications strategy

About You

  • Extensive experience managing employee communications activities, within large organisations and preferably in energy and/or industrial companies
  • Deep experience in organisational change communications
  • Demonstrated experience from within a corporate communications function where you have drafted clear, concise, and compelling content for communications programmes and activities
  • Sound stakeholder management skills and ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders to engage with a wide range of employees, stakeholders, and executives
  • Strong ability to proactively identify key reputational risks to the business, as well as activities that can build reputation
