Disability Support Worker Independent Living Victoria

The Independent Living Victoria team share and believe that the most important goal is to ensure our clients receive the best high-quality care and value available. We strive to employ staff who share the same values as we do when it comes to caring for our clients. It is important for all our care staff to demonstrate reliability and commitment as our clients rely heavily on them to assist them with daily tasks and activities.

The role may involve:
- Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance)
- Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
- Transportation and supporting social engagement
- Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Professional or lived experience supporting someonewith a disability
- Experience in providing high level care
- Experience using a hoist
- Flexible and good availability
Essential criteria:
- An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centred support
- Transferable life/work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach
- A valid driver’s license
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- The legal right to work in Australia
- Current Police Check
- Current CPR & First Aid certificate or willing to obtain
- Excellent communication skills
- A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities
