We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based at our NSW Head Office in Blacktown.
This is a pivotal role with key responsibilities including:
- Prepare monthly financial statements for distribution to board of directors and management.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with relevant accounting principles.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial forecasts, monitor and report variances.
- Cashflow management
- Fixed Asset Management
- Monitor and maintain Accounting Control Procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Liaise with external auditors, provide all documentation required for audit and collaborate to resolve any issues identified.
- Prepare monthly Business Activity Statement.
- Prepare monthly payroll tax and year-end payroll tax reconciliation.
- Prepare annual Workers’ compensation reports.
- Oversee AP and AR process.
- Ensure ASIC compliance.
- Assist tax consultants with tax return preparation.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
About you:
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong commercial acumen, capable of recognising work that needs to be done. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and manage relationships effectively. With highly developed analytical and report writing skills, you will demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making and take accountability for business outcomes.
Key capabilities and attributes:
- CPA or CA qualified with a Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting.
- At least 5 years’ experience as an accountant in Australia.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite.
- High level of attention to detail.
