Who are we?
Wintringham is a specialist not-for-profit organisation providing an extensive range of aged care, housing and related support services to men and women aged 50-plus who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness. We employ over 1000 staff and operate from multiple offices across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Our Head Office provides the strategic direction and support services for Wintringham’s residential, housing and community care services.
Your new role
An exciting opportunity exists for a committed and proactive individual to join our expanding Finance Team at our Head Office as the Full Time Finance Reporting Manager. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), in this dynamic and multifaceted role you will supervise the Finance reporting team, as well as manage various finance functions including, managing internal and external reporting and preparation of the company’s budget.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Company’s annual budgets and associated Board papers
- Reporting to regulatory bodies including annual statutory reporting (company annual report)
- Reporting to internal stakeholders and the provision of key analysis
- Motor Vehicle Fleet Management
- Manage capital and philanthropic funding requirements
- Work collaboratively with the Finance Operations Manager to set up and implement finance processes for new programs
- Provide support to program managers including but not limited to assisting to create efficiencies in processes and assisting with data validation
We are looking for candidates with the following:
You are an experienced accountant with a flexible and collaborative approach to working with your team. Your skills will be supported by possessing the following:
- Relevant/appropriate qualification from a recognised institution or university
- Extensive working knowledge of accounting disciplines including financial accounting, management accounting, budgeting, compliance reporting as well as systems development and improvement.
- Staff supervision skills and experience including the ability to lead and motivate others to be cooperative in resolving conflicts and issues.
- Experience in coordinating and prioritising tasks.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels, including supporting programs managers and budget holders.
- Proactive and inquisitive mindset and investigative and problem-solving skills with capability to interpret and analyse financial information and a strong drive towards developing system-based outcomes.
- Advanced Excel skills, with a high degree of proficiency utilising other Microsoft Office applications

When it appeared that Gordon House was to be closed, Tiny gathered support from government, unions and the media which resulted in Gordon House being rebuilt on the banks of the Yarra River. This new building has now since closed, but Tiny’s successful fight against what appeared to be insurmountable obstacles, continues to inspire the company that has been named in his honour.
