As our Retail Marketing Director on a 12-month fixed term contract, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the Retail Marketing team to deliver a consistent brand experience across all consumer engagement touch points in Australia and New Zealand.

Building relationships cross functionally and partnering with our global teams in Milan, this role oversees various aspects of brand management, strategy, production, planning, budgeting, team management & customer engagement initiatives within fast-moving global retail businesses. The role is pivotal in shaping the marketing plans for our retail banners of OPSM, Sunglass Hut, Oakley Retail, Laubman & Pank and EyeQ Optometrists across Australia and New Zealand.

In this role you will: 

  • Implement the global brand plans to achieve business goals and brand ambitions.
  • Drive and deliver consistent brand positioning across all channels and segments, growing brand awareness and consideration
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including operations, sales, product and finance to align marketing strategies with business goals.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and customer behaviour in the eyewear and eyecare sector
  • Brief and produce marketing collateral, advertising campaigns, and promotional materials to support the marketing calendar.
  • Manage the marketing calendars and promotional plans for the retail banners in partnership with Senior leadership teams
  • Brief and manage the annual media strategy to support each retail banner
  • Be the custodian of all agency scope of work agreements and relationships
  • Manage and reconcile the retail brand Marketing budgets to align with the brand ambitions
  • Provide reporting on campaign performance, quarterly business updates and marketing ROI to the wider team, making recommendations for optimisation
  • Manage and coach a team of direct and indirect reports

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • Business degree with a focus on Marketing or Communications
  • Demonstrated track record of effective leadership and people management skills
  • 6 + years’ experience within a similar level position
  • Previous industry experience within retail is highly desirable
  • Responsibility for managing budgets and accountability for results
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing communications.
  • Aptitude to coach, train and develop others and strong stakeholder management
