About the role

The Partner Marketing & Events Specialist will focus the planning and execution of co-marketing and go-to-market campaigns with strategic partners with the goal of increasing referrals. You’ll build relationships across internal teams and external partners and serve as a subject matter expert on the partner ecosystem and marketing with, to and through partners.

You’ll also be responsible for driving new leads through strategic events and trade shows, in the market and industry verticals through events, and building on partnerships through sponsorships and participation in events.

This role is closely aligned internally with the Australia, New Zealand (ANZ) business and leadership, the global business development and partner management teams, content marketing, and sales teams. You’ll work with these teams to grow our merchant base through various marketing activities including content, webinars and events, social media, case studies, and other creative co-marketing campaigns. This role is a part of the global marketing team and offers career planning and skill development.

About the Team

The partner marketing team drives revenue for all Auctane products by growing referrals and annual recurring revenue through strategic partnerships and collaborative marketing initiatives. Our more than 1,000 partners—ecommerce platforms, marketplaces, carriers, and agencies including Amazon, eBay, Shopify, BigCommerce, Australia Post, Aramex, and CouriersPlease—play a crucial role in the company’s success.

What will you be doing?

  • Communications: interact with key partners and internal stakeholders and lead meetings; set proper and clear expectations across departments; articulate a strategic vision; effectively present to internal and external audiences; clearly communicate the value of each product.
  • Project management: ability to scope, define, and lead projects across departments with well-defined milestones and timeframes, and with clear value to the business; ability to identify and clear roadblocks for stakeholders and bring solutions to problems.
  • Strategy: analyse business and marketing opportunities to bring maximized value to the business; drive goals and objectives with measurable milestones and initiatives; understand organizational context, partner ecosystem, and customer merchant segments; develop structures and processes that increase team’s productivity.
  • Relationships: building relationships with partners based on mutual interest in merchant success; aligning with internal stakeholders in product, business development, sales, and support.

  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills to derive benefit-driven messaging from concepts and articulate a vision and expectations to stakeholders.
  • Organisational and time-management skills to complete cross-functional projects by deadline and ability to anticipate and solve for roadblocks in and outside the organisation.
  • Excellent presentation skills to represent the organization in public and while participating at trade shows, as well as presenting before internal and external audiences.
  • Self-starter and team player who demonstrates initiative and urgency, helps create a productive work environment for coworkers, and welcomes and acts on feedback.
  • Enthusiastic marketer with a command of marketing concepts, strong relationship-building track record, and understanding of marketing platforms in social and digital marketing.
  • Understands organizational context, strategy, and goals; a marketer who can tie their efforts toward goals and delivering business value.
  • Creative and effective problem solver who can bring ideas and perspectives.

What will make you stand out?

  • Proven track record in marketing with, to and through strategic partners
  • Proven track record managing event execution from start to finish
  • Marketing and sales experience in the ecommerce ecosystem
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • One to three years of work experience within the marketing field with progressive responsibilities.
