ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Founded in 1980, Christian College Geelong is a K-12 school where academic achievement is balanced with care and concern for each student’s character development and wellbeing, grounded in the Christian faith. We have five campuses across Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast region as well as a rural experience for Year 9 students at an expansive farm property in Scotsburn, near Ballarat, and a unique Art, Technology and Design campus for Senior School students in Waurn Ponds.

THE ROLE

Christian College Geelong is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. We are currently seeking a Full-time and ongoing Help Desk Assistant to join our IT team, providing essential support to students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities:

1. User Support:

· Respond to and resolve user inquiries, technical issues, and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.

· Provide first-level troubleshooting and technical assistance for hardware, software, and network-related problems.

2. Ticket Management:

· Utilise ticketing system to log, track, and prioritise support, repair and insurance requests.

· Document solutions and resolutions thoroughly for future reference and knowledge sharing.

3. Hardware and Software Maintenance:

· Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, projectors, printers, and peripherals.

· Collaborate with team members to ensure that systems are up-to-date and in compliance with security policies.

· Monitor and assign notebooks to staff and students.

4. User Training:

· Conduct training sessions for end-users on basic hardware and software usage.

· Create and update user guides and documentation.

5. Communication:

· Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users.

· Keep users informed about the status of their requests and provide timely updates on ongoing issues.

6. Collaboration:

· Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex issues.

· Participate in team meetings and contribute to the improvement of IT processes.

WHAT YOU BRING

· Proven experience in a help desk or technical support role.

· Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.

· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

· Customer-focused with a dedication to providing exceptional service.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

· Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
