Position Overview: 

We are seeking an accomplished and passionate Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall kitchen operations, including menu development, staff management, and ensuring the highest quality of food and presentation. The Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining Olivigna's reputation for excellence and innovation in the culinary arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development: Design and curate seasonal menus that reflect Olivigna's commitment to quality and innovation, with a particular focus on Italian cuisine. Incorporate locally sourced ingredients and align with current culinary trends.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient and smooth workflow. Maintain rigorous standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation.
  • Staff Leadership: Lead, mentor, and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and consistency. Monitor food preparation and portion sizes.
  • Inventory and Cost Control: Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and order supplies as needed. Monitor food costs and implement measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Participate in marketing and promotional activities to enhance the restaurant's visibility and reputation.
  • Innovation: Stay updated with the latest culinary trends and techniques. Experiment with new recipes and cooking methods to continually elevate the dining experience at Olivigna.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food handling, and sanitation standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-end restaurant or similar establishment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to create and manage budgets, analyse financial reports, and implement cost-control measures.
  • Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
