The Role

This newly created role will see you reporting to the Manager NPI & Projects where you will be responsible for the ongoing strategy and operations of all water supply and water treatment site surface water to ensure EPA compliance is met. 

You will manage the processing wastewater, the tailings return to camp, ensure planning and delivery of water for all services on site, and water treatment plant.

This is a permanent, full time position on an 4:3, 4:3, 8:6 roster ex Perth to Mt Holland

Key Responsibilities 

  • Active participation in the establishment of a health and safety culture
  • Oversee all water assets including water supply pipeline, tanks, pumps, treatment plants
  • Supervise and participate in the operation and maintenance of water plants involving complete treatment processes to ensure compliance with all health codes.
  • Reviews work of contractors during projects and upon completion.
  • Implement strategies to maximise process water recovery
  • Provide technical guidance for the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of the Processing Water Treatment Plant
  • Plans, supervises and assists in the repair and replacement of plant equipment.
  • Work closely with the Environmental department to maintain compliance with licensed discharge requirements.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of the site water management and reducing costs to mine.
  • Manage relevant budget and expenditure
  • Support and coach team members, managers and employees with the site water infrastructure.

Role Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in mine site water management
  • A degree qualification or higher in either hydrogeology, groundwater modelling, geology, hydrology, engineering, geoscience, science or applied science.
  • Background in chemical or water quality
