We service a number of sectors including industrial, commercial, mining & resources, recreational and remote and government infrastructure. It is our multi-faceted, in-house capabilities, which include engineering, workshop detailing, fabrication and rigging, that allows us to provide a ‘one stop shop’ service to our clients. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Estimating Manager to join our team and lead the Estimating team.

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and be responsible for all pre-construction activities.

Key duties will be:

  • Review new enquiries and allocate appropriate pre-construction resources according to current workloads and project type.
  • Hands-on leadership of the tender estimating process ensuring accurate and quality Proposals are submitted;
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the tendering process, ensuring the impact on the tender price is documented and quantified;
  • Identify potential commercial advantages, opportunities and problems in the tendering process and communicate findings with relevant stakeholders;
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Estimating team;
  • Liaise with live projects to ensure you have an up-to-date view of current costs;
  • Review and implement continuous improvement to the Estimating software and tools.

To successfully secure this position you need to demonstrate:

  • proven experience and capability in both structural steel and broader construction industry estimation
  • solid understanding of first principles of estimating
  • experience in developing and leading teams
  • self-motivated, goal orientated with strong teamwork skills and a 'can do' attitude
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • a high level of attention to detail,
  • strong computer skills, particularly with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook,
  • a high level of honesty and integrity.
