Management Accountant
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This pivotal role supports the Senior Director, Corporate in managing the financial operations of the department. The Management Accountant will be instrumental in preparing the annual budget, conducting financial analysis and forecasting, providing financial advice, and ensuring robust financial performance and management.
About the role:
- Develop, update and maintain financial management reporting models for internal stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Group, Business Unit managers and JACS Strategic Finance e.g. business unit reporting, Statement of Performance and Private Public Partnership contract.
- Develop, update and maintain internal budget model and reporting including budget preparation and assumptions, costings and forecasting, budget vs actual reconciliation and variance explanations.
- Enter and upload the annual internal budget for Departmental and Territorial accounts in TM1 and make adjustments as required.
- Develop, update and maintain reporting models and reporting for external stakeholders such as Commonwealth agencies e.g. ROGS and CGC
About you:
- Demonstrated practical experience and leadership in accounting, analysis and reporting, including demonstrated ability in developing and manipulating financial modelling tools and complex spreadsheets using computer systems such as Excel, Oracle, COGNOS and TM1.
- Demonstrated ability to develop systems/processes to meet compliance needs and experience in introducing reporting systems for nonaccountants that meet their needs.
- Proven research, analytical and problem-solving skills of a high order
Location and Contract Term
This role is being offered to those in Canberra, ACT. Initial contract for 2 months and high chance to be extended.
Security Requirements
Our Government Client require applicants have the full working rights andcandidate will be required to maintain a clearance at this level.
Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment screening checks which may include, ID and work rights, security clearance verification and any other client requested checks.
