What you will be doing:

• Product Vision and Strategy: Lead the development and communication of a compelling product vision that aligns with the overall business strategy. Collaborate with executives to communicate product strategies and gain support. Define and execute a product roadmap that drives business growth and meets customer needs.
• Best Practises Champion: Define and implement frameworks known to produce the highest quality outcomes for Product Teams. Have considerable experience knowing which methodologies work in certain types of business scenarios. Know what good looks like from a world-class product team in execution mode. Drive continuous improvement and optimization of product processes and ensure a high standard of documentation and discipline exists across the team.
• Metrics and KPIs: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of the product. Use analytics to monitor product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions. Lead the creation of dashboards and reporting standards to communicate product performance across the business.
• Analysis & Critical Thinking: Bring strong quantitative skillsets to bear and a confidence with numbers that enables rigorous analysis of projects. Use these skills to analyse the business cases and prioritisation decisions behind any product development project to ensure we spend our resources on only the projects with the best chance of ROI. Similarly, this role requires a very high attention to detail to spot anomalies or errors in execution.
• Team Leadership & Coaching: Have experience building a team from 0 to 1 to drive significant commercial impact. Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Provide guidance and support to empower the product management team to achieve their goals.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape. Use data-driven insights to inform product decisions and ensure market relevance.
• Customer Engagement and Centricity: Have substantial experience engaging customers for feedback and creating UX research strategies in partnerships with Designers. Skilled in collecting and analysing feedback from a range of Subject Matter Experts. Generally champions a customer-centric approach to product development.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Understands how to run highly effective meetings and projects in geographically distributed and remote-first workplaces. Knows how to drive engagement across departments to achieve goals and maintain alignment and buy-in from departments that may have competing priorities from time to time.
• Product Development Lifecycle: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from ideation to launch and optimisation, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, to ensure alignment and successful product launches.
• Risk Management and Roadmap Adjustments: Identify and mitigate risks that could impact product development and delivery. Be prepared to pivot product strategy and adjust the roadmap based on changing market conditions or business priorities. Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and changes in market conditions.
• Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets related to product development, innovation and general department management. Ensure cost-effective resource allocation and ROI for product initiatives.
• Be a spokesperson and key leader within the Product & Technology Department: support the VP in being a senior spokesperson for the department. Naturally lean into taking the spotlight where needed for the department, including presenting at key functions, attending high profile customer meetings and other scenarios as needed which will create better outcomes and a happier workforce.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• Proven experience (8+ years) in product management roles within the SaaS industry.
• Detailed knowledge of all agile development frameworks, product management workflows and product analytics frameworks and instrumentation tools (eg. Tableau, Pendo)
• Track record of successful product launches and market impact.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, and experience building and scaling a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities, all the way to C Suite and Board level reporting and influencing.
• Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Experience in property management technology and Higher Education Housing is a plus.
