About the Opportunity
The People Relations Advisor provides support to team members and team leaders for P&C and ER related matters. This role is responsible for providing P&C advice to leaders on P&C policy, process, procedural employee relations matters as well as drafting appropriate employment documentation. The role also provides support to our Joint Venture businesses, helping to support the local P&C lead/BP or General Manager with P&C and ER matters.
This role will require working across both the Heatherton and Port Melbourne locations, supporting both the Independent Hardware Group and Total Tools.
In this Role You Will…
- Provide guidance and coaching to leaders and team members in relation to P&C policy, procedures, practices, Enterprise Agreements, Modern Award and/or systems queries
- Manage P&C content displayed on the intranet to promote and drive self service
- Case manage procedural employee relations matters (including absenteeism, performance and policy matters) in consultation with local P&C BPs/Leaders across 100% entities in line with Metcash Group frameworks and processes.
- Case manage employee relations matters within the Joint Ventures businesses.
- Ensure Heads of P&C and Group Workplace Relations and Compliance Team are across complex matters or escalations in a timely manner
- Process employee and/or position changes in the HRIS and prepare associated documentation
- Drafting letters of offer, redundancy letters/consultation packs, flexible working arrangements and exit letters
- Keep a track of all matters; review and analyze to understand trends; recommend training needs and education as required to continually build leader capability
- Assist with P&C projects
You’re Likely a Match If You Have …
- Functional and/or generalist P&C experience; ability to partner at different leader levels
- Solid ER experience and strong case management, engaging all relevant stakeholders to drive commercial/compliant outcomes
- P&C operational systems (e.g. HRIS, LMS)
- Knowledge of Australian employment & industrial legislation
- Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders
- Using and interpreting data to provide relevant insights to inform business decisions
