Black Rhino Group is the fastest growing Hotel/Pub operator in Victoria, South Australia & Queensland. In the last 6 years we have grown from 9 pubs to 42 Black Rhino Group owns & operates hotel gaming venues throughout Victoria, S.A. & now Queensland. We are the largest independent owner/operator in Victoria. We need an experienced finance professional to take a lead role in the management of the Group financial reporting and external audit/tax compliance.
Key Attributes

- Technically competent and able to work with cloud-based software applications including Xero and MS Excel
- Analytical skills & understanding of relevant key financial data

Key Tasks
- Establish and maintain effective reporting/monitoring /accounting controls, systems, and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information and data
- Monthly financial reporting to all key stakeholders of venues (Owner, COO, CFO & Operations Managers)
- Management of key non-operating businesses with the Group
- Assisting the CFO in yearly tax & audit compliance
- Assisting the CFO in quarterly bank covenant reporting
- Assisting the CFO in preparation of annual budgets
- Management of income tax obligations, including BAS, IAS, FBT and all other ATO statements.
- Management of PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and BAS lodgement
- Manage weekly cash flow and KPI reporting to ensure timely monitoring of financial and business performance
Management of Finance Team Tasks
We have a finance team currently made up of 20 staff based in the Philippines. We have a Team Leader in the Philippines who manages the team and the structure of their daily/weekly/monthly tasks and reporting. The finance team tasks are summarised below:
- Accurately record weekly financial activities in Xero Accounting via manual journals
- Recording and payment of all creditor invoices
- Manage the payroll function for all individual business entities including preparation and of weekly payroll reports for approval and recording of same. Raising of weekly payroll banking files for approval by CFO
- Bank reconciliations
- Journal and month end processing
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Fully reviewing the end of period draft profit & loss statements
- Maintenance of capital expenditure including the creation, depreciation and disposal of assets
- Timely and accurate production of periodic Profit and Loss, review and analysis of same, within deadlines.
- Period balance sheet reconciliations of selected asset and liability accounts.
- Assisting with collation of audit information, samples, and documentation
