Position: Senior Estimator

Company: Tier 2 Main Contractor

Location: Sydney, New South Wales

Salary: $180K - $250K depending on experience

Reporting to: Estimating Manager

Our client is a prominent Tier 2 main contractor, specializing in the delivery of complex building projects across Australia, with a particular focus on New South Wales

Renowned for their expertise in delivering challenging construction projects involving extensive building services components, such as Healthcare, Data Centres, Life Sciences, Correctional Facilities and Aged Care, they push the boundaries of construction excellence by delivering highly specialized projects that meet the unique needs of their clients.

Company Size and Structure:

As a medium-sized Tier 2 contractor, our client balances the resources and capabilities of a larger organization with the flexibility and personalized service of a smaller firm. The team is dynamic and driven, with a genuine passion for the work they do.

The addition of a Senior Estimator will expand their Estimating team to four members, currently including the Estimating Manager and two Intermediate Estimators.


Team Dynamics:

The Estimating team is detail-oriented, competitive, and enthusiastic about tackling exciting projects. The Senior Estimator will play a critical "2IC" role to the Estimating Manager, providing mentorship and development to the junior team members while actively contributing to the success of their tenders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex tenders up to $200M
  • Oversee Extensive Cost Planning, Hard Dollar Tendering, ECI Negotiation, Sub Contractor Analysis, Cost Benchmarking, and Forensic Cost Profiling
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of tender submissions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors
  • Work on diverse projects including Hospitals, Data Centres, Defence Facilities, and more, primarily within NSW

Project Values:

  • Projects range from $5M to $175M, with typical projects around $30M to $50M.

Software Requirement:

  • Proficiency in CostX is imperative; experience with Bluebeam is also beneficial.
