My client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead high-voltage (132kV+) substation projects from inception through to completion. This role involves overseeing design, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases to ensure timely, cost-effective, and safe project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive project engineering leadership on Energy and Utilities projects, ensuring innovative solutions are implemented alongside the Construction Manager.
  •  Act as the primary contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and promoting customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage procurement, construction, and commissioning plans. Oversee all project phases to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
  • Manage permitting and regulatory compliance, ensuring projects meet all legal and environmental standards.
  • Maintain detailed project schedules and manage costs effectively, ensuring financial variations are addressed promptly.
  • Participate in bid and tender phases, clearly communicating project requirements to ensure accurate and compelling bids.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in managing high-voltage projects (132kV or higher), including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
  • Strong ability to utilize project management software and tools.
  • Skilled in scrutinizing capital expenditure proposals and controlling operational costs.
  • Ability to set goals, motivate teams, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Capable of developing and implementing strategic visions for project success.
