Transgrid operates and manages the major high voltage electricity transmission network in NSW and the ACT, connecting generators, distributors and major end users.
Our core role is to connect electricity consumers to a safe, secure and reliable network through efficient maintenance, proficient operation of assets and prudent investment. Our network is the backbone of the NEM, enabling energy trading between Australia's three largest states along the east coast and supporting the competitive wholesale electricity market

The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager and a Project Manager to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
The Senior Project Manager will develop and implement the project management function for Class B ($80-$500M) projects to ensure the customer connection to the Transgrid transmission network are delivered on time, within budget, to the specified standards, in accordance with Transgrid policies and procedures. The project management function will include but not be limited to:
- Management and coordination of all project activities related to their section of the project
- Project Governance and Assurance
- Project Tracking and Reporting
As the Senior Project Manager, you will support the Project Director in the project development and bidding process, assist in preparing the program, internal cost estimates, organisation chart, and management plans. You will also provide mentorship and guidance to the team and provide input to their performance and development plans. This includes developing and implementing training programs to impart skills/knowledge and driving a high-performance work culture,
The Project Manager will deliver the project management function for Class B ($80-$500M) projects, in accordance with Transgrid policies and procedures. You will support the Senior Project Manager in the project development and bidding process, assist in preparing the program, internal cost estimates, and management plans.
The roles will also support overall project assurance, establish, and provide advice, information and reports on project performance and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in engineering or relevant discipline
- Desirable requirements in Project Management qualifications at diploma or advanced diploma or degree level
- Experience in project development, contract management and negotiation
- High level business and commercial acumen
- Highly collaborative and decisive behaviour style
- High level ability to think outside the box and drive change.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in managing large capital High Voltage Substations and/or Transmission Lines projects.
