Job Description:
As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and construction oversight of bridge infrastructure projects. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering innovative bridge designs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of bridge structures, including concrete, steel, and composite materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams throughout the entire project life-cycle, from conceptual design to construction completion.
- Conduct structural assessments and evaluations of existing bridges, identifying deficiencies and recommending appropriate rehabilitation or replacement strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, design calculations, and construction drawings in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Utilize advanced structural analysis software and modeling tools to optimize bridge designs for performance, durability, and constructability.
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate bridge structures seamlessly into larger infrastructure projects.
- Review and approve design submittals, shop drawings, and construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Provide technical support during construction activities, including site inspections, structural testing, and resolution of field issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development through training, guidance, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements in bridge engineering technology, and regulatory changes to continuously improve project delivery processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge engineering, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or LUSAS.
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, ACI, and other relevant industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing project teams and overseeing multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project site visits and client meetings.
