Queensland’s hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before.This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, the Health Capital Division (HCD), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds in the next five years. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments.Working in HCD, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?

The purpose of this position is to be a key member of Health Capital Division, providing high level support and advice to the Deputy Director-General in the Division and liaising with senior management, the Minister's Office, senior executives in the public and private sector and clients to facilitate administrative and executive matters relating to the Division. Permanent full-time opportunity in a newly established area, located in Brisbane CBD.

The successful person

  • Providing comprehensive executive support to the Deputy Director-General, you will be a pivotal member of the Office of the Deputy Director-General, Health Capital Division. You will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment both as a team member and autonomously using initiative to resolve or escalate emerging issues.
  • With prior experience supporting senior executives, preferably in a government context, you will be able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, using exceptional interpersonal skills to create and maintain positive and professional relationships to support the Deputy Director General.
  • You will be highly proficient and experienced at producing and managing high quality documents in the Microsoft suite and supporting complex executive calendar and travel arrangements with attention to detail.
  • You will be an agile and enthusiastic team player with a customer focussed mindset.
