We are seeking a Procurement and Project Officer to join our team on a 12-month Temporary Full-Time, basis with a possibility for an ongoing role within the Office of Sport. The role will be based at Sydney Academy of Sport with hybrid work options available (minimum 2 to 3 days based at Sydney Academy).


We offer a competitive salary to the right candidate with total remuneration package ranging from $106,0205 up to $117,363 per annum plus 11% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.

About the role

The Procurement & Project Officer provides procurement expertise and assists stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet business outcomes and government directions.

This role works closely with the Operations Manager to deliver on procurement activities in a growing and diverse environment.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

· Ability to support the administration of effective procurement practices in an environment with a high volume and variety of tasks, competing priorities and tight deadlines.

· Demonstrated experience in providing procurement advice to key stakeholders and decision makers to achieve business outcomes.

· Demonstrated experience in the delivery of procurement services in a public sector environment.

· Knowledge and experience in NSW Government Procurement Processes.


You will be responsible for:

• Validating stakeholder business needs, compile, and source market information, and assist in analysing markets and assessing risk to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions.

• Conducting sourcing activities in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet business needs and participate in negotiations to establish new supply arrangements that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes.

• Providing a range of project management and procurement support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, implementing contract management plans, coordinating resources, maintain procurement documentation, and implementing project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope.

• Preparing and maintaining documentation for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.

• Identiyfing, mitigating, and escalating procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities.
