About the role:
Two exciting permanent opportunities have become available for Senior Human Resource Consultants (locally known as Senior HR Business Partners), joining the Metropolitan South region Business Partnering team.

Senior HR Business Partners provide senior level, strategic advice and support to Principals and school leadership teams across a portfolio of schools. Metropolitan South region includes the Ipswich corridor, the area west of Ipswich to Laidley and surrounds, southside Brisbane, and the Redlands. The available portfolios of schools to support are centered primarily in the Ipswich corridor.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain effective, collaborative partnerships with a range of partners, including:
    • Principals and school leadership teams
    • Metro South region HR teams including other Senior HR Business Partners, Organizational Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team and Employee Relations team
    • HR teams in other regional offices and central office
    • Metro South Regional Services team
  • Provide senior-level strategic advice and support to Principals and Leadership teams within your portfolio of schools, on a range of issues including:
    • Workforce planning
    • Conduct and performance
    • Employee complaints, IR and ER issues
    • Union matters
    • Application of legislation, EB's and directives
    • Workplace reforms
    • Teacher transfer process
    • Recruitment
    • Injury management referrals

Experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems is advantageous. This role is based at one of our Metropolitan South regional offices (preferably Ipswich, however Mount Gravatt is also available) with flexible work options available. A driver's license is required for this role as it requires daily/weekly driving between schools and department offices.
