About the role

Join our team as an Advocacy Lead and drive the progression of our city's regionally significant projects. These complex initiatives require substantial investment from state, federal, and private partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Advocacy:
    • Develop innovative advocacy campaigns positioning Ipswich and its projects for government, business, and community support
    • Create tactical advocacy plans based on principles like common purpose, coordinated communication, and unity of voice
    • Lead implementation, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Influence high-level decision makers and key private sector stakeholders
    • Cultivate strong networks with business, community, and government partners
    • Collaborate with project officers to ensure consistent and relevant advocacy approaches

To be successful in this role you will have:

Tertiary degree in a relevant field

  • Successful development and implementation of community campaigning plans, strategies, and events
  • Effective time management and ability to handle competing priorities
  • Agility under pressure
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Data analysis and trend identification
  • Political acumen

About the benefits

This is a permanent, level 8 position with a salary commencing at $121,294 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
