The Infrastructure Safety Unit (ISU) provides leadership, support and guidance on the implementation, maintenance and performance of the Infrastructure Management and Delivery's (IMD) divisional safety system of work through key actions and activities. The ISU is accountable for ensuring the effective management of the health and safety of IMD workers and monitoring the health and safety performance of external principal contractors and sub-contractors on projects where TMR is the client.

The purpose of the Principal Auditor is to lead the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance and audit systems, tools and resources and governance frameworks and training materials for IMD.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the development, implementation, and management of IMD's rolling WHS Audit Schedule including the development of detailed audit reports, briefing notes and materials on the performance of divisional and branch systems and initiatives.
• Provide independent and professional advice/insight to senior and operational management on matters relating to WHS governance processes, risk management and controls which may include systems and processes under development.
• Oversee and contribute to the administration and ongoing management of IMD's ISO45001 Safety Management System and take a lead role in the investigation, analysis and delivery of safety improvement opportunities for the safety management system arising from workplace and industry incidents, developments and research.
• Obtain post-audit feedback from internal audit clients; monitoring the implementation of internal audit recommendations and appraising the adequacy of the corrective action/s undertaken to improve systems and procedures.
• Working collaboratively with diverse teams across IMD to foster a culture of safety, ensuring that audit practices are understood, valued, and effectively integrated into daily operations.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's license or equivalent as travel to project sites will be required.

Desirable qualifications
• Proven experience in conducting health and safety audits.
• University degree or other tertiary qualification/equivalent qualification in work health and safety.
• Experience in safety management systems design, development and review.
