Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical Health, Safety and Compliance advice and support across all BUMA Australia sites while ensuring the implementation and effectiveness of the BUMA Standards, BUMA Critical Risk Management Program and Site SHMS.Key Responsibilities:Establish and develop tools and processes to ensure the BUMA Standards and Critical Risk Management Program are achieved across all operationsActively promote the BUMA Safety Brand - Home SafeProvide technical Health & Safety and Risk Management advice and support to all BUMA Australia operationsEnsure audit and assurance activities are undertaken as per the BUMA Australia Risk, Audit and Assurance ScheduleFocal point for all BUMA Australia Operations for Incident Management and Investigation practicesBuild, mentor and coach all H&S personnel to help build the H&S Capability within BUMA AustraliaReview and monitor site H&S performance for best practiceConduct formal and informal reviews of site SHMS implementation and effectivenessEnsure all H&S Programs are implemented and maintained by all BUMA Australia operationsProvide leadership and support to site H&S teamsRepresent BUMA Australia at Industry Forums relevant to Health and Safety.Regular travel to various sites

About You:Tertiary level qualification within a Health, Safety or Risk discipline as a minimum.RIIRIS402 (G2)RIIRIS601 Establish the Risk Management System (or MINE7033 Minerals Industry Risk Management or GMIRM)ICAM Lead Investigation competencyDemonstrated site based mining industry experience in a Health & Safety capacity (5 years within a site-based H&S leadership role)Extensive knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 (Qld) including all relevant regulations, guidelines and Australian standards and their application in an operational environment is preferable.People management and leadership capabilityExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage with front line leaders and employeesExcellent working knowledge of establishing and maintaining Safety & Health Management Systems within a mining environmentPositive influencer with ability to engage with people from multiculturesEnergetic with a professional desire to improve health and safety outcomes at sitesAbility and willingness to spend at least 80% of time on site.To be considered for this opportunity please click "Apply Now" to submit your applicationAll final applicants for this position will be asked to consent to a police check.
