This position is intended to improve the under-representation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples in the electrical transmission industry and as such will only be open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.   • Available to you will be working a 9-day fortnight with RDOs every second week.

In this role, you'll play a vital part in building bridges and promoting positive relationships between our procurement function and First Nations businesses. You will also lead the development and implementation of Powerlink's modern slavery program of works, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and fostering ethical sourcing practices.

You will also;

  • Own and implement the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) procurement commitments
  • Identify, analyse, and make recommendations to improve Powerlink's procurement approach to engaging First Nations businesses
  • Educate the business on the Queensland Indigenous Procurement Policy (QIPP) and identify and communicate opportunities for procurement from First Nations businesses
  • Produce reports demonstrating spend, locations, or other relevant data relating to Powerlink's engagement with First Nations businesses
  • Lead the development and implementation of Powerlink's modern slavery program of works, ensuring compliance legislation
  • Drive engagement with key internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies for addressing modern slavery risks

Your expertise
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with Indigenous community groups, businesses, and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with the Modern Slavery Act and previous experience in developing and implementing modern slavery programs
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to analyse spend data and make recommendations
  • Knowledge of Queensland Government's procurement policies and an understanding of government policies related to the engagement of Indigenous businesses
