The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Procurement Specialist for a 12 month term in our Infrastructure Delivery (ID) team in Brisbane/Melbourne. This is covering for an internal secondment and may become permanent.

Reporting to the Manager - Infrastructure Procurement, you will play a key role in providing capiltal project procurement services through various stages of Development through to Delivery. This includes construction contracting Procurement support to APA Group capital Infrastructure Delivery projects and development support to Energy Solutions team nationally. The team supports variety of Energy Infrastructure Projects including Gas Infrastructure such as Pipeline, facilities and Renewable projects such as Solar, Wind, Battery (BESS) and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support stakeholders such as Project Managers and Capital Delivery Managers, by providing functional and procurement services to support delivery schedules, drive benefits and ensure on-time and on-budget quality project outcomes are achieved.
  • Manage assigned packages from planning and preparation of the request for tender (RFT), through negotiation, governance, approvals and award of contracts
  • Deliver sourcing, negotiation of variations, changes, claims, disputes, amendments and contracting of terms and conditions to effectively manage risk and ensure optimum benefits for APA projects.
  • Provide input and involvement into the development and execution of strategies, policies, and procedures to maximise procurement efficiencies for business units
  • Identify and manage procurement and related project risks for projects, including staying up-to-date with any trends and external drivers which may affect delivery to ensure these are proactively managed

Your background

  • Knowledge and experience in the procurement of direct services and equipment for major capital/construction projects and/or engineering works
  • Experience in complex multi-party projects with technical development
  • Demonstrated business acumen, including but not limited to financial, commercial, and contractual
  • Experience in renewable (solar, wind, BESS) will be an advantage
