Embark on a rewarding journey with one of Australia's largest universities as a Senior Management Accountant. This is your chance to play a pivotal role as a crucial business partner to a large academic faculty, shaping the financial landscape to align with academic goals and objectives. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, you'll lead the charge in delivering strategic insights, decision support, and innovative solutions, contributing to the University's esteemed reputation for financial excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day relationship management and business partnering for complex portfolios, including strategic and operational planning, financial insights, and problem-solving.Actively manage portfolio activities and budgets, utilizing advanced accounting and management reporting techniques.Interpret and implement University financial policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance and offering guidance to stakeholders.Develop strategic annual client plans, identifying key issues and needs, and driving service delivery improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.Advocate and support the University's strategic plan and objectives, engaging with stakeholders to drive strategic transformation and change initiatives.Ensure general financial governance and compliance across the academic faculty, including reviewing financial structures, maintaining compliance with procurement and finance policies, and managing funding compliance.Provide mentoring, coaching, and supervision to Financial Services staff, contributing to skills and professional development.Collaborate effectively with peers and other stakeholders to deliver financial services objectives Certifications:
  • Membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or equivalent.
Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex financial policies and procedures.
  • Highly developed relationship management skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
