About Cocoon SDA Care

Cocoon SDA Care provides support staff to NDIS-registered provider. Our houses offer our participants a place they can call home, whilst encouraging independence and lifestyle choices that suit their individual needs. Our highly skilled and passionate team is dedicated to supporting our Participants to live life to the full.

About the role:

  • We are seeking casual Disability Support Workers who have experience in supporting participants with high complex needs, that will eventually lead to permanent part time or full-time positions.

  • 15+ hours per week paid employment
  • Experience in complex behaviours of concerns.
  • Providing complex care and support to participant with challenging behaviours and ability to comply individual Behaviour Support Plan.
  • Ability to complete medical charts and records.
  • Providing support around personal care, including bed bath/showering, toileting, dressing and medication administration.
  • Ability to recognise and understand to individual changes.
  • Domestic duties for a clean and hygienic environment and workplace. Cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Empowering and supporting individual support needs, improving daily living with level of understanding of cognitive impairment, Autism Spectrum, intellectual disability and psychosis diagnosis.
  • Experience in working with youths with challenging behaviours advantage.

Mandatory requirement

  • Certificate III in Individual Support Disability, Aged care or equivalent 
  • First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling, and Medication Administration training or willing to obtain. 
  • Current Driver’s License 

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to hold or be willing to obtain a National Disability Insurance Scheme NDIS Worker Screening check and a Working with Children Check.
