Who We Are
ERA-co is a new global Placemaking Consultancy made up of strategists, data scientists and experience designers who lead transformative strategy to shape cities, neighborhoods and destinations to positively impact the lives of people and the places they inhabit. With offices in New York, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and London, our global ambitions have only just begun.
Our collective operates in the rare space between creativity and consulting. We are assembled into four distinct verticals; Brand Experience, User Strategy, Urban Strategy & Planning (USP) and Productions.
The pandemic has disrupted how we as humans are using space. The University and learning, research and academic workplace environments have been significantly impacted by many changes, and new pedagogies are driving the need to rethink the student experience and the role of the campus. The ERA-co User Strategy team undertake strategic briefs, campus asset strategies, strategic space planning, research, and user experience consulting for a range of Universities and Innovation Precincts, operating in the strategic space between management consultants and architects.
So, Who Are You?
We are looking for a specialist education consultant that is passionate about the future of education and research – learning spaces, research spaces, student experience, and everything else that makes up the campus. The ideal candidate is academically qualified in a relevant field, is client focused and thrives in a hard working collaborative team environment.
The role would appeal to those in their early-mid career stage with approximate 3-6 years post-grad experience. Whilst we are a relatively small unit, we work with the wider ERA-co team and often partner with the Woods Bagot global network. We are looking for an individual with a growth mindset who is comfortable within the presence of ambiguity and to take initiative to gain clarity and create a path forward.
Initially the role will be based in Australia (Sydney or Melbourne) but there may be international career opportunities in the future. We work flexibly at ERA-co, however regular time in the office will be required.
Key Requirements:
- Work with the User Strategy and ERA-co team in Australia and globally, undertaking consulting.
- Implementing projects and supporting the project lead: Ensuring a high level of innovation and best practice project delivery with client centric mindset.
- Work with the geographically dispersed Australian team often across multiple projects at one time.
- Facilitation skills: such as workshop facilitation, interviewing, presentation, team briefings, town hall presentations and forums.
- Growing Knowledge: Writing internal reports, developing campus strategies, summaries of research etc.
- Strategic Foresight: Identifying future trends, campus visioning, benchmark studies and understanding of the path to change.
- Data analysis: Existing building condition analysis, space demand modelling, growth projections analysis.
- Data Translation: Ability to translate complex datasets into clear and tangible insights.
- Develop long-term relationships with clients. Have articulate, high level conversations with clients to manage life of project and grow business organically.
- Local and international travel from time to time; we consult to Universities all across Australia and New Zealand.
- Sharing knowledge and liaising with the local and global team, weekly catch-up meetings and regular project meetings.
- Preparation of Excel spreadsheets, Indesign, PowerPoint presentations and reports.
Your Experience:
- 3-6 years post graduate experience in a similar position.
- Previous education experience - you will need to be passionate about the future of education and research.
- Academically qualified in a relevant field (architecture, design, business etc.)
- Experience dealing with high-level stakeholders.
