Bid and Estimating Specialist

Our client is an established and experienced electronic security provider that offers a comprehensive range of security alarm, CCTV and access control solutions with complete design, installation and maintenance services for our national retail, financial and other commercial clients.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Sales and Business Development and working with the Sales and Projects teams you will be responsible for:
- Manage aspects of tendering across the business. Prepare and submit bids for all types of electronic security projects. Manage bids and communicate with other staff.
- Identify risks and opportunities associated with each project. Assist in the assessment of such risks and opportunities and provide advice on management of them.
- Review project documentation. Such documents may include but are not limited to Drawings and Technical Specifications.
- Prepare accurate and precise quantity take-offs. Calculate accurate cost estimates from first principles.
- Review estimates and tender submissions prior to submission for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in site visits when required to understand the scope of work, take photos and liaise with the potential clients.
- Develop accurate construction programmes.
- Document all aspects of the tender process for handover and audit purposes.
- Review outcomes of completed projects and undertake an analysis of the accuracy of the estimate to incorporate learnings back into the estimating process.
About you:
- Proven ability to work both as an individual and within a team environment;
- Sales/Marketing experience;
- Familiar with local, state and federal laws applying to security/CCTV systems;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the Security industry;
- Experience with Inner Range, Tecom, Milestone, Hanwha, Axis, i-Pro and similar is considered highly beneficial;
- Strong stakeholder management skills;
- Proven ability to negotiate;
- Strong communication skills and confidence in presenting to groups;
- Great problem-solving abilities;
- Technically focused with high attention to detail;
- Current NSW Security License;
- Current Driver’s license.
