Department: Department of Families, Fairness and Housing

As Senior Project Officer reporting to the Principal Advisor Employment and Projects, you will be responsible for assisting the implementation of the Paving the Way Forward (PTWF) legacy projects across the North Melbourne and Flemington highrise estates. The Paving the Way Forward program formally commenced in early 2021 to provide a platform to support and work alongside the residents of the two estates. Since then, the program has been working with Flemington and North Melbourne public housing residents, local government, and delivery partners to seek to embed residents' views and ideas into the decisions affecting their homes, neighbourhoods, and services.

To support transition planning and to provide residents clarity about the program planning and milestones, the work of Paving the Way Forward from 2021 to 2023 is referred to as Phase One, with the application of a more targeted work plan from 2023 to July 2025 defining what will now be referred to as Phase Two. Phase Two will see the program taking the learnings from that deep engagement to inform priority areas for focus and action in the areas of resident voice platforms, employment opportunities and a focus on improving maintenance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Renter Decision-Making: collaboratively deliver operational project plans, including implementation, renter recruitment, training, and evaluation (Both Voice of lived experience on recruitment panels and Review and Improvement Panels initiatives).
  • Work closely with residents to ensure their issues, needs, and ideas inform your work program.
  • Provide high-level specialist advice and support on various strategic project and operational matters.
