JET Group Australia is a multi-discipline service business based in Mackay. We provide a wide range of services to customers in the mining, ports, rail, transport and construction industries including but not limited to design, drafting, engineering, light and heavy fabrication, mechanical servicing and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles, hydraulic design and fitting.

About the Role

We are seeking a ACCOUNTANT to join our team, 30-38 hours/week, flexible days/hours. This position is for a fixed term covering parental leave. Flexible commencement date from June 2024.

About You

This role would suit a graduate or student studying Bachelor of Business/ Commerce or Bachelor of Accounting. You will:

  • have a detailed understanding of Revenue, Cost of Goods, GPs, Expenses and the ability to talk confidently to stakeholders about these.
  • be competent in Microsoft Office programs 
  • have intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (create/edit formulas, build reports for line managers, create/edit graphs). 
  • have the ability to problem solve and investigate variances.
  • have the ability to prioritise multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • have an understanding of inventory and willingness to learn.
  • have a current Queensland Driver’s License.
  • have Australian work rights.
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Assist with Stocktake Variances
  • Black Coal LSL review
  • Payroll Tax review and lodgements
  • Month end reporting (WIP, BU Reporting)
  • General Ledger Posting
  • Monthly Cost Reviews for Business Units
  • Weekly Management of Debtor invoices status
  • Yearly Budgets

In the years they worked together, Shayne Ritchings and Tony Hutchinson realised they had a winning combination with complementary design, project management and manufacturing skills along with inside knowledge of the practicalities of design and manufacturing for mine sites.

Tony and Shayne identified a gap in the market for a small, quality focused, engineering fabrication shop that handled projects from concept through to design, manufacture and installation.
