The Opportunity

We're on the lookout for someone with an incredible eye for design and a knack for detail, especially in the retail realm. As Design Director at Yes Agency, you'll spearhead conceptual design for core and retail projects, ensuring alignment with Optus Brand Guidelines.

Managing senior retail designers and collaborating closely with stakeholders, your role is pivotal in delivering assets to precise specifications. With a knack for bringing designs to life, you'll enhance client brands while bolstering our creative reputation. Your inclusive leadership will foster a collaborative environment, motivating the team to excel and produce work that elevates our business.

A snapshot of what you'll do:

  • Responsible for the conceptualisation of visual design solutions, supporting the Head of Design, from concept to completion of assigned projects, from initial client background briefing to implementation including problem solving, creative strategy and execution.
  • Delivering strong, powerful creative ideas, fit for purpose, to budget and time constraints.
  • Presenting and selling in creative concepts to clients and guiding them through decision making processes.
  • Be the creative expert and support the design team on delivery of assets.
  • Providing feedback to other designers and motion team, and signing off production work.
  • Fostering a shared agenda with clients, inspiring them and giving them the confidence to be adventurous.
  • Inspire the creative team by sharing design trends, best-practice and thought-leadership.
  • Actively initiate Retail and Mass store visits on a regular basis.

Your ideal experience:

  • Experience at a Design agency or working within the retail space.
  • Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite is a must.
  • Strong conceptual and design skills, the ability to create ideas-led, beautifully crafted work.
  • The ability to effectively tell a story and convey ideas in a compelling way.
  • Attention to detail: the ability to meet a brief and take personal and team ownership of the quality of work.
  • Skills in AI, photography, art directing, and motion is a nice-to-have.
