Why your role matters
Reporting to the Head of Employability and sitting within the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Student Success portfolio, the primary focus for the Project Manager – Future Leader Lab will be managing the implementation of UNSW’s TIES Grant.
This role plays a pivotal part in leading the design and delivery of the Future Leader Lab Theme and accompanying project deliverables for the UNSW Technology, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Skills (TIES) grant awarded to UNSW by the NSW Department of Education (DoE). The Project Manager will work collaboratively with the two other grant leaders to ensure that the project outcomes are delivered and that all reporting requirements are met in accordance with the DoE reporting schedule.
In addition, this role supports UNSW's 2024 Operational Plan by expanding Future Leader Lab opportunities and interdisciplinary learning for students, including developing the four curriculum themes of Recycling & Circular Economies; Renewable Energy; Renewable Transport; and Digital Literacy and focusing on inculcating technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship skills within the course outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the successful implementation of the Future Leader Lab Theme of UNSW’s NSW Department of Education TIES Grant while aligning to the strategic intent of the University’s 2024 Operational Plan to scale the number of students undertaking interdisciplinary experiential learning courses including the Future Leader Lab.
- Lead the design and delivery of the project’s educational themes to be delivered through the Future Leader Lab undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Working with the PVCSS Employability team and other UNSW key stakeholders to design and deliver effective communications of the project deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
- Scope and coordinate initiatives to support the upscaling of the Future Leader Lab course deliveries.
- Lead the delivery and ongoing evaluation for continuous improvement of project deliverables by developing practical and measurable outcomes
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent experience in a relevant field or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of issues related to technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Demonstrated experience in working in areas related to sustainability.
- Demonstrated experience and success in project management.
- High-level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective collaborative professional relationships with staff at all levels, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in the development, delivery and collaborative co-design of student experience and engagement initiatives with a range of people at different levels of an organisation.
