The Strategic Communication & Engagement (SCE) branch is responsible for the department's corporate communications, sponsorship and events as well as media and social media. Services provided by SCE ensures that the department has a strategic corporate communications framework and consistent approach to engaging with schools, members of the community, the media, business, and other government agencies.

About the Role:

Applications are sought for a Programs and Events Coordinator to join the Programs and Events unit.

This exciting opportunity will allow the successful applicant to coordinate and assist in the delivery of major programs and events for the department such as the Premier's Reading Challenge and Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage and other programs and events as required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and support the delivery of programs and events including large staged arena performances, student reading programs, gala dinners, conferences, visual art exhibitions, instrumental and choral programs, and other events as required.
  • Consult with schools, regional offices, internal and external stakeholders and liaise with project coordinators to plan and deliver programs and events for the department.
  • Prepare a variety of departmental documents including briefing notes, function profiles, program schedules and event run sheets.
  • Coordinate program budgets including sourcing suppliers and managing purchasing and payment processes.
  • Maintain sponsorship relationships and coordinate sponsorship entitlements.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with staff and external clients to ensure the success of the department's programs and events.

Individuals applying must have program management and events skills. Experience in and/or an understanding of education and arts programs would be advantageous.

Applicants must have a valid Blue Card. After hours and weekend work is integral to the role.
