The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, structural integrity, well integrity and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters, and in coastal waters where regulatory powers and functions have been conferred.
NOPSEMA also administers the functions of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR), for the offshore renewables industry. This includes the regulation of work health and safety, infrastructure integrity, and environmental management for offshore renewable energy infrastructure activities.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director – Analytics and Reporting to join the Regulatory Strategy, Improvement and Reporting Team in our Perth Office on a permanent basis.
Role:
Reporting to the Director - Regulatory Strategy, Improvement and Reporting, this role is responsible for the provision of data analytics and reporting to support NOPSEMA’s Strategic Regulation and Regulatory Operations teams.
You will manage a small team and work closely with the Director – Regulatory Strategy, Improvement and Reporting to shape the strategic direction of the function and co-ordinate closely with the NOPSEMA digital transformation program to parallel systems development for optimised data analysis and reporting.
You will also work closely with regulatory teams to deliver timely and accurate analysis reports and services in support of NOPSEMA’s risk-based approach to regulation.
Key Responsibilities:
As a leader with experience and knowledge in the design and implementation of data management and governance frameworks, you will manage the Analytics and Reporting team to identify trends and insights to inform strategic regulatory planning and support risk-based operational decisions.
You will oversee the design and implementation of data models, pipelines and data warehouses for optimized analytics, insights and reporting.
You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and proactively monitor regulatory data in order to identify emerging trends and promote advice within the Agency and to industry.
