Job Description:

  • Lead, inspire and develop a large, high-performing team.

  • 3 days a week (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday). Day Shift 6am –6pm

Mars Wrigley Australia home to many well-known brands such as Skittles, Extra & Eclipse are looking for our next Team Leader to build on our culture in which quality, food safety and human safety are paramount.

You will be fully responsible for leading, inspiring and developing a large, high-performing team to deliver operational, safety and people performance targets.

Success with the above is executed by leading resources and partnering with stakeholders across the business to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. This will in turn drive efficiency and value across the Mars supply chain.


Additionally, developing and engaging your team will be a key priority, and you will build capability and drive engagement through a focus on creating collaborative relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coach associates to achieve and exceed companywide objectives around quality and safety.
  • Ensure Department Safety procedures/requirements are met. These include Start up Checks, LOTO, Accident investigations and Department Safety Toolbox attendance.
  • Ensure Department maintains GMP’s, Hygiene Standards and that Quality procedures/requirements are met. These may include, Cleaning Schedules, Flavour Change Checks, Consumer Complaint investigations etc.
  • End-to-end process management for your team and work area.
  • Developing and implementing continuous improvement activities that address safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Team Engagement.
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of your operational areas.
  • Identification of training needs.
  • Performance and development management.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Demonstrated skills in driving a team to achieve business objectives and implement corrective actions.
  • People Leader – Ability to build rapport with team and motivate them to action through leadership and engagement.
  • Proven experience delegating and developing others.
  • An understanding of manufacturing environments, with experience leading a similar team.
  • Environment, Health and Safety focus, complying with company policy.
  • A keen eye for quality and food safety compliance, delivering on the company quality and food safety standards.
  • Initiative – Able to plan work, grow associates and deliver their department KPI’s to meet our customers’ requirements.
  • Sense of Urgency – The ability to produce the quality of work provided within standard timeframes (OEE Focus).
  • Literacy – Able to read and follow instructions and provide clear instructions to team members.
  • Numeracy – proficient in arithmetic, including basic mathematics to analyse performance and unit cost trends.
  • Computer literate and intermediate experience with Microsoft suite (mainly Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
