Location: Sydney or Brisbane (this role can be based in either state, the offices are based in the CBD of each city with hybrid working options available)

A rapidly growing, award-winning insurance company that is renowned for providing excellent service to their customers.

As the Team Leader, you will report to the Head of Claims and manage a team of Claims Specialists. Supported by technical leaders and senior claims staff, your primary focus will be on relationship building, performance management, work allocation, and process improvement.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish Performance Standards: Set and uphold performance benchmarks within the claims team to ensure high-quality outcomes and adherence to company standards.
  • Conduct 1:1 Meetings: Engage in regular, constructive one-on-one meetings and difficult conversations with claims staff to provide feedback, support, and professional development.
  • Manage Workflow: Effectively distribute and manage the claims workload among team members to maintain efficiency and balance.
  • Participate in Projects: Actively participate in various projects and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives within the claims department.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, bridging the gap between the Head of Claims, the wider team, and relevant external parties.
Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build rapport and handle difficult conversations effectively.
  • Extensive background in casualty or liability claims.
