Internal Communications Specialist

As an Internal Communications Specialist in this newly created role, you'll develop and implement impactful strategies to engage and inform our teams, foster a positive culture, and lead communication for acquisitions. Collaborate with stakeholders and showcase your expert copywriting skills across various channels and play a key role in driving our success and growth Reporting to the Marketing Director, and part of the marketing team based in our modern offices in North Sydney, we offer the flexibility to work under a hybrid work model. 

This role is Part-time, 3 days per week.

As part of the Sonova Group, Sonova Audiological Care Australia has two client facing brands: Connect Hearing and Neurosensory. Under these brands we have a national network of hearing clinics which provide client-focused hearing healthcare to all Australians. What will you be doing?

Internal Corporate Communications

  • Develop and execute internal communication plans to support business objectives and engagement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement global initiatives.
  • Write, edit, and distribute internal materials like newsletters and presentations.
  • Manage corporate intranet pages and support department pages.
  • Promote employee engagement through events and activities.
  • Assist senior leadership with crafting messages and presentations.

Acquisition Communications

  • Create and execute communication strategies for new acquisitions.
  • Write and manage acquisition communications with a focus on timeliness and sensitivity.
  • Support leadership in change management communications.

Copywriting for Marketing Activities

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to write and edit external communications such as direct mail, eDMs, collateral, and press releases.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in corporate internal communications, roles in complex services industries, ideally healthcare.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives and messages that resonate with target audiences.
  • Able to ‘bring to life’ a concept and drive internal engagement.
  • Master wordsmith; exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent editing and proofreading abilities, including a high attention to detail.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously to deliver.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels of our business.
  • Hands-on can-do attitude. Willing to go the extra mile to achieve the outcome.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced matrix environment in global environment, including attending some meetings across different time zones.
