Business Development Manager

The Position
Working for a cardboard packaging company with customer service and quality at the forefront of everything, this is a high paced role - with lots of lead generation and cold-calling, meeting with potential customers to uncover areas where you can offer them solutions to solve their problems, or educate them on areas where they can better their business. Once you have secured new customers, you will hand over to Account Managers to maintain that relationship and continue the chase of new customers.
You will thrive to develop new markets and customers in order to increase sales profitability and will be working as part of a sales team - without individual targets but an overall team common goal which helps move the business and their customers forward.
You will act as consultant to customers, in order to develop the business as a trusted long-term partner, building close, lasting relationships with customers is absolutely central to the role. This is a key role, with direct access to all parts of the business. It is an exciting, career-defining opportunity for the right individual with significant career development opportunities available.
Some responsibilities consist of:
- Strategic sales planning/ developing growth areas
- Develop business plan for assigned accounts in CRM
- Develop and manage ongoing strategy plan with input from stakeholders within the relationship matrix
- Assess the market and identify new opportunities
- Establish and maintain relations and understand their needs to ensure a solution is meeting their requirements and assist where possible to continuously improve customer service
- Understand and respond appropriately to customer needs, transitioning query to customer service as required
