Your Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Lead the estimating team in preparing detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects.
  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive bid proposals.
  • Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Implement and manage estimating software and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Review and assess potential project risks and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor and report on project budgets, costs, and performance metrics.
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior estimators within the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting residential construction.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in estimating within the residential construction industry.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading an estimating team.
  • Proficiency in Databuild.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
