Kitchen and Cleaning Operations Manager – Melbourne Stadiums

Delaware North is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Kitchen and Cleaning Operations Manager to serve as the Chief Kitchen Steward at Marvel Stadium on a 9-month contract, with potential for extension. We are looking for an individual with exceptional commercial cleaning standards to join our leadership team, and build and lead a loyal and energetic back-of-house stewarding team. Marvel Stadium is one of Melbourne’s most iconic stadiums, hosting more than two million patrons annually, and serving as home to multiple AFL teams including the Carlton Football Club.
About the Role:This position will involve building and leading a strong team of kitchen stewards responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all food & beverage production areas and outlets. We seek a dedicated individual who takes pride in their work, and can motivate and lead a team passionate about their vital role in the stadium’s operation.
Duties:- Manage stewarding department rosters, ensuring compliance with modern award and working right restrictions.
- Provide comprehensive on-the-job training to new team members, enforcing high standards.
- Supervise kitchen stewards during shifts with a hands-on approach.
- Oversee deep cleaning of kitchens and back-of-house areas, ensuring tasks are completed to high standards.
- Ensure adherence to hygiene and WHS requirements in line with correct processes.
- Handle chemicals safely when assisting with cleaning tasks.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a commercial kitchen or large stewarding department.
- Understanding of Commercial Kitchen Equipment, Chemical Handling, Food Safety, HACCP, and WHS requirements.
- Good presentation and excellent communication skills.
- High standards in grooming and personal presentation.
- Proven written and oral communication skills with sound computer literacy.
- Availability to work a 7-day roster including morning and evening shifts, public holidays, and weekends.
- Culinary leadership background will be highly regarded.
