K&L Gates' complex commercial litigation and disputes practice has tremendous capabilities and is well-equipped to take on the most complex and difficult engagements anywhere, anytime around the globe. Our dispute resolution lawyers are recognised as being some of the foremost practitioners in their field with our Australian practice recognised in Doyle's Guide and Best Lawyers.
Our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice is seeking a junior lawyer (3 – 4 years PQE) to join our Insurance Coverage team with a specific focus on general liability and institutional abuse claims. The team has a depth of experience and a will provide a strong foundation for any lawyer who has a desire to build a specialisation in this area and work within a talented team of dedicated specialists.
The team is a highly collaborative and supportive team, and the successful applicant will work closely with Partners' Hannah Jankiewicz, Emma Dawes and Peter McGrath.
About the role
This role presents a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leading team of lawyers where you will provide exceptional legal advice to clients, conduct defence as required, assist the senior lawyers and appear in court.
Subject to your experience, you will have autonomy to take ownership of the day to day running of files with supervision and mentoring from senior members of the team. You will also be encouraged to be involved in firm activities and committees.

To be successful in this role you will have experience which focuses on litigation, ideally working in private practice on matters relating to personal injury, general liability / institutional abuse or WorkCover.
You are hardworking, dedicated and possess a high level of integrity when dealing with clients and colleagues. A high level of client service is expected as are excellent organisation, written and oral communication skills.
