About the Role:
Rubix Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Architect with NV1 Security Clearance to join our dynamic team in Canberra. As an Application Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions for our defence industry clients. This position requires a deep understanding of defence sector requirements and the ability to work on complex, mission-critical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of application architectures that meet business requirements and align with strategic goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and development teams, to gather and analyse requirements.
- Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, technical specifications, and design documents.
- Ensure that all applications comply with defence industry standards, security protocols, and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and design patterns.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of existing applications, recommending improvements and optimizations.
- Work closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and applicability to defence projects.
- Facilitate and participate in technical discussions, workshops, and meetings to drive architectural decisions and problem-solving.
- Ensure all solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet performance and security requirements.
- NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in application architecture and software development.
- Proven experience working in the defence industry, with a strong understanding of defence sector requirements and standards.
- Proficiency in architectural frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Expertise in a variety of programming languages, frameworks, and technologies (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, Angular, React).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Certification in TOGAF, ITIL, or other relevant architectural frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices relevant to application development.
- Familiarity with data management and integration technologies
