Successful applicants will be required to work from the Canberra office for a minimum of 3 daysper week. Remote work arrangements will be discussed with the specified personnel’s managerupon commencement, and a Working from Home Agreement must be formalised.
Seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to play acritical role in the design and implementation of technology solutions thatsupport the implementation of corporate and business ICT services required.
The Solution Architect will play a key role in designing,implementing, and overseeing specific technology solutions whilst complyingwith the architecture design and security practices. These positions requirecreative problem-solvers with strong analytical and technical backgrounds.
The Solution Architect will be responsible for thedevelopment of the technology solutions that support the Modern WorkplaceProgram by mapping business requirements to systems/technical solutions toensure ICT Services are in line with the enterprise architecture and needs ofthe business.
The Deliverables for the Solution Architect include, but arenot limited to the following:
- Solution Design: Design and developtechnology solutions that align with the Program’s objectives and requirementswhilst also complying with the architecture and security frameworks andpractices.
- Architecture Documentation: Create andmaintain detailed architecture documentation, including diagrams, technicalspecifications, and guidelines for the implementation and integration ofsolutions.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:Work closely with stakeholders, including business units, project managers, andTechnology specialists, to understand requirements and translate them intoeffective, scalable, and secure technology solutions.
- Technology Evaluation & Selection:Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms that best suit thespecific needs of business whilst complying with Health’s design and securityframeworks.
- Integration & Interoperability:Propose solutions that seamlessly integrate new with old, identify and documentpaths to uplift legacy systems (where required), promoting interoperability anddata exchange between different platforms and applications.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:Ensure that proposed solutions meet internal and external design and securitypractices, policies, standards and frameworks and have the appropriateapprovals as per internal governance procedures.
- Advisory & Support: Provide technicalguidance and support to both the Program and throughout the lifecycle of theprojects.
Qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience (5 years) working as aSolution Architect or in a similar senior technology design role.
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Azure or Microsoft365 technologies.
- Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks(e.g., TOGAF) and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillswith the ability to collaborate effectively, engage and influence with diversestakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of software developmentmethodologies, system design, and integration practices.
- In-depth understanding of current ICT regulatoryand compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitation ofworkshops involving a range of participants including senior management,technical staff, and business users.
- Experience with enterprise design tools (e.g.,Sparx Enterprise Architect) desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communicationskills.
- Qualifications in computer science, InformationTechnology, or a related field.
- Experience in SIEM/SOAR technologies, such asMicrosoft Sentinel.
- Certification in Enterprise Architecture (e.g.,TOGAF certification).
- Experience in cloud architecture and big datasolutions, in a healthcare context.
- Experience working within an Agile program team.
- Familiarity with government or public sectororganisational structures and processes.
- Familiarity with SASE based networkingsolutions.
