Your Role: Commercial Manager
As a Commercial Manager, you will provide strategic guidance and direction to the business, collaborating closely with Project and Bid teams to ensure successful negotiation outcomes and effective contract management throughout project delivery.
You will also oversee compliance with contracts, manage technology and intellectual property, handle confidential data, and contribute to project status reviews. Supporting key stakeholders across the business, including the Bid teams and Project Management office in Sydney and nationally, this role is based full-time at Garden Island, NSW.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on and manage project contractual obligations.
- Lead resolution of contractual and commercial issues, including claims coordination.
- Assist bid/project managers in continuous solution development and best practices.
- Provide timely commercial and contractual advice to AWS stakeholders.
- Oversee efficient contract administration and compliance.
- Support Project Managers in milestone delivery and contract commitments.
- Ensure accurate reporting on project KPIs and maintain contract data accuracy.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or similar in Commerce, Engineering, Law, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in complex contract management, ideally in high technology Defence sectors.
- Prior experience in Defence-related industries, locally or internationally.
- Knowledge of ASDEFCON bids and contract negotiations.
- Strong grasp of project delivery principles, contract law, and pricing.
- Advanced negotiation, analytical, financial, and numeracy skills.
- Eligible for Defence Security Clearance (Baseline or above).
