Civil Construction Roles Foreman and Plant Operators

Plant & Machinery Operators (Construction)

DECC is a privately owned and operated company that was founded in 2007. Senior company management have a combined 75 years of active experience in demolition, civil, remediation and environmental contracting and are responsible for the delivery of many iconic projects within the construction industry. DECC is fully licensed, insured and currently active in: Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle and Wollongong metropolitan areas as well as regional areas of NSW and QLD. We provide demolition, environmental, remediation and civil contracting services as well as project management and consulting services for Tier 1 Builders, Property Developers, blue-chip listed companies, Government Authorities and Project Managers.

Qualifications & experience

  • Proven experience and expertise in operating plant at optimal productivity levels within the Civil, Remediation or Demolition industry.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with either medium to large size plant (Bucket | Rock breaker | Pulverizer) in earthworks, remediation, demolition or landfills.
  • Proficiency in keeping daily records of plant and equipment.
  • Identifying problems that arise and resolving them.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Ensuring that safety and environmental rules and programs are strictly adhered to.
  • Conceptualizing and recommending plant improvement strategies.
  • Carrying out site inspections and audits.
  • Performing preventative and maintenance measures
  • Monitoring and overseeing plant operations.
  • Assisting with startup, shutdown, and operation of Site Plant/equipment.
  • Observing gauges, dials, switches, and alarms, and other indicators to ensure that all machines are working properly.
  • Training new hires and cross-training other staff members.
  • Maintaining a clean, hazard-free work environment.
  • The ability to understand, follow, and apply policies, practices, and operating procedures.
  • A proven ability to work independently as well as within a team.
