The **University of Klagenfurt **(Department of Smart Systems Technologies) and **Silicon Austria Labs GmbH **jointly operate the **Ubiquitous Sensing (USE) Lab **and are pleased to announce the following open position at the Department of Smart Systems Technologies, Faculty of Technical Sciences, **at the earliest possible date**:

**Aufgabenbereich**:

- Contribution to USE Lab research programme in collaboration with Silicon Austria Labs and national and international partners
- Independent research activity with the aim of writing a dissertation within three years
- Collaboration in administrative and organizational tasks of the USE Lab
- Collaboration in the public relations activities of the USE Lab

**Voraussetzungen**:

- Completed master's or diploma degree in electrical engineering, information technology, telematics, physics or a related technical field of study at a domestic or foreign university with good academic record and correspondingly very good knowledge in the area of responsibility of the position to be filled
- Interest in the simulation and realization of hardware components for future robotic systems
- Programming skills in at least one of Matlab, C/C++, Python, ROS
- Fluent written and spoken English
- High motivation, independence, social and communication skills

**Erwünscht sind**:

- Experience in at least one of the following areas:

- Sensor and actuator technology in robotics
- Modeling and simulation of sensor and actuator systems, e.g. using FEM
- Model
- and/or data-driven signal processing
- Optimization methods
- Experience with MEMS and/or heterogeneous integration
- Experience with additive manufacturing processes
- Relevant scientific publications

The employment contract is concluded with a starting salary of € 3,578.80 gross per month (14x per year; previous experience deemed relevant to the job can be recognized in accordance with the collective agreement).
