The World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS) has an open position for a full-time Finance Intern in our offices in Vienna, Austria.

The Finance Intern will provide comprehensive support to the Finance Department and will support projects related to accounting, financial controlling, and the improvement of quality management system processes.

WINS is a small integrated team and good communications skills and a positive attitude to supporting and working with all team members is an essential element of the position.

Within delegated authority the Finance Intern will be responsible for the following:
On a daily basis examines documentation for processing and accounting transactions, such as invoices, credit card statements, credit card receipts, travel claims, etc., to ensure compliance with our internal procedures
Checking whether processing documents are properly certified by Programme Managers / authorized persons
Making sure that pre-travel and post-travel forms are completed properly; ensuring that the actual money spent is in line with the pre-approved travel authorization, checking eligibility of expenses for further processing
Do regular follow-ups on all outstanding issues to ensure up-to-date and reliable accounting records
Provide assistance in the collection and collation of data to assist with the preparation of periodic reports
Revising and providing input to accounting manuals, procedures and finance and administrative instructions
Updating the inventory list on a regular basis
Contributing to the year-end closure activities
Support the year-end audit process
Performing other related duties as assigned
Maintaining the proper filing system for financial records and documents

**Knowledge and Experience**:
Recent university graduate or final year student in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
Sound theoretical background and good understanding of bookkeeping and accounting
Fluency in written and spoken English, German desirable
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing, maintaining databases and record keeping

Salary and Benefits

Gross annual salary for this position is 21,000 Euros. WINS offices are centrally located in Vienna and we offer flexible-working arrangements based on an average 42-hour working week (the salary includes the additional 2 hours/week overtime). WINS offers a progressive policy for professional development and becoming professionally certified is encouraged as part of our commitment to quality standards. WINS Management Systems are certified under ISO 9001:2015 and WINS Learning Services are certified under ISO 29993:2017.
